The Anticorruption Institute sent communication of facts associated with alleged irregular acts against the public administration to the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and the Supreme Court of Justice

On 30 August 2019, the Anticorruption Institute sent a communication of facts detailing alleged irregular acts against the public administration involving Liberal Party Senator Mario Alberto Castaño. The allegations are related  to the granting of royalties for the development of the construction of the Malecon de la Dorada and the paving of the Salamina – Pácora and Salamina – La Merced roads, for a total of 80 billion pesos.

Doubts about the criteria for allocating royalties arise from a series of statements given by the senator at a public political event within the framework of the electoral campaign of Juan Pablo Ospina Rosas, currently Municipal Mayor of Salamina, and Camilo Gaviria, who was a candidate for the Government of the Department of Caldas for the Liberal Party.
