On 9 August, the Transparency Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, in its capacity as coordinator and technical secretary, announced the names of the different organizations that will be part of the Committee of the Alliance for Open Government in Colombia (AGA Colombia) for the period 2021 – 2023.

During the selection process for the renewal of membership of the Committee, Colombian citizens were able to choose from the nominated organizations to determine which would represent each sector. In the Civil Society category, the Anti-Corruption Institute was elected to join the Committee, alongside other NGOs such as Corlide, the Corona Foundation and Datasketch.

The Open State Committee of Colombia is a multilateral initiative made up of over 70 nations from around the world who are committed to upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, public participation, technology and innovation. This space seeks to establish a rapprochement between civil society and the Government in order to guarantee respect for fundamental rights and the quality of life of Colombians.

The Anti-Corruption Institute, together with the other selected organizations, will ensure public participation in the Open State strategies of those public sector entities who are also part of the Committee. These organizations are: the Secretariat of Transparency of the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Finance and the Administrative Department of Public Function.
