In a conversation with the Asuntos Legales platform, Camilo Enciso, Director of the Anti-Corruption Institute discussed the National Government’s “Comprehensive Project for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption” .

Enciso explained that the greatest obstacle faced by potential whistleblowers is a lack of trust on the part of those making the denouncement and the fear of reprisals, which is why it is necessary to establish mechanisms to protect them. In a similar vein, one has to consider the responsibility of legal persons, in so much as that when there is a criminal conviction against individuals, the authorities may impose administrative sanctions “if the misconduct was carried out with the consent or knowledge of said legal person and for their benefit ”.
