The Anti-Corruption Social Response Force (FUERSA), a coalition of civil society organizations, sent a right of petition to the outgoing president of the Senate, Lidio García, and to the 108 senators, asking them to report any relationship with other members of the Char family, or with the Char group’s companies or businesses.
Camilo Enciso, Director of the Anti-Corruption Institute and member of FUERSA, asserted that “We are convinced that democracy cannot be snatched by the country’s major economic powerhouses. Simply serving the interests of a minority”.
