Judge orders the Ministry of Labor to respond to a request for information from the Anti-Corruption Institute

A judge ruled against the Ministry of Labor for violating the right to petition previously presented by the Anti-Corruption requesting access to public information, and ordered the Ministry to respond to the request and to hand over the information regarding the agenda, trips, meetings and gifts that are managed or received by their organization.

Given the lack of response, the Anti-Corruption Institute had taken legal action against the Ministry for the alleged violation of the fundamental right to petition and due process to access public information on a national level. The request had been made with the purpose of publishing the information received it the Institute’s new anti-corruption portal: CabilVeo – transparent management, an open data platform on the management of lobbying with regard to public officials in Colombia.
