The ‘Noticentro 1 CM &’ evening bulletin reported the results of the Anti-Corruption Institute-led investigation into public procurement during the economic emergency caused by Covid-19. They showed that a third of the contracted companies have a high risk of corruption, and that over 51% of the hiring was direct, which makes oversight and control difficult.
Enciso said that these companies are “those who say they know everything, but who, at the moment of truth, don’t know how to do almost anything well.” He went on to call on the Comptroller General of the Republic to verify those companies that represent a high risk and prioritize auditing within the municipalities that are contracting these organizations.
