Camilo Enciso, Director of the International Institute on Anticorruption Studies, proposed a study to explore the possibility of paying a reward to those people who report corruption in a timely manner.

The former Transparency Secretary argued that economic incentives should not be applied in all cases of corruption, but could be deployed in certain, particularly sensitive, cases. He said that in these instances, it is essential to ensure that the reward does not come from the public purse, but rather from the fine that is imposed on the person being sanctioned.
